What is the history and background of this award?

IHS has been seeking a high-profile, distinctive way to recognize companies that are committed to the concept of preventative healthcare. As such, the Award program was instituted for the year 2007, and is given to companies who have shown improvement in their Interactive Health Index (IHI) scores (see below) during a two-year period.

The Award recognizes a commitment to the health and well-being of employees, and the creation of a corporate culture that encourages everyone to take an active role in preventative care.
